FAMILIES EDUCATION MEETING |
The first hour consists of a presentation by professionals working in the field of addiction which covers general information, education and current issues about addiction and its affects on a family. During the second hour, the meeting breaks into small discussion groups led by facilitators in which participants share their experience, strength and hope. The goal of the group discussions is not treatment, but the exchange of experiences, recovery and positive solutions. It is strongly suggested that in addition to attending Families Helping Families, participants attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and Al-Anon meetings on a regular basis. Names, conversation and content are confidential and are not discussed outside of Families Helping Families meetings. |
